Do you need to have oral surgery but you’re worried about the pain medication you’ll have to take after? Don’t worry! We offer Exparel to all of our patients during treatment. Exparel is an alternative to opioids that offers long-lasting pain relief.
Like we mentioned above, Exparel is an alternative to traditional opioid pain medication. We know there are many different reasons people either might not be able to or might not want to take normal pain medication and we don’t want that to stop you from having the oral surgery that you need.
Exparel is different from traditional pain medication in a few ways. It only needs to be given once and that is by your doctor during surgery. The medication works for the first couple days after surgery and you don’t have to worry about taking it again. Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to think about making sure you take your pain medication every few hours? That way you can just focus on recovering and taking it easy.
Pain medication is important because in order to heal properly and completely, you need to manage your pain. Your body needs to focus on healing the surgery site, not managing pain. Using medication to help take that load off your body can help speed up your healing process.
You can learn more by calling our office, we would be glad to answer any questions you might have. You can also check out the Exparel website, for more information about how the medication works and why it might be a good option for you!
